Teacher
As an organization that strives to incorporate academics into our art, Art With a Heart is proud to have certified teachers working with our students.  If you are a certified teacher with a desire to give back to the community, we’d love to have you help with one of our after-school programs or summer camps.  Retired teachers (who are available during the daytime) may enjoy working in a kindergarten class.

Classroom Assistant

Our classroom assistants help in so many ways.  Responsibilities for this position include setting up the art room, interacting with students, helping children follow directions to ensure completion of art work, and cleaning the classroom after class. In addition, volunteers assist with setting up student art exhibits.

Photographers
At Art with a Heart we love to capture glimpses of our budding artists at work.  We also take pictures of their beautiful art work and our wonderful student art exhibits.  Photos are used for grants, brochures, posters, scrapbooks, our website and so much more.  We welcome all passionate and skilled photographers who are interested in helping us document our success.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors oversees all property and affairs of Art With a Heart.  Board members are actively involved in fundraising, budget planning, organizational management, and community outreach.  In addition, members attend monthly meetings, serve on committees, volunteer in our programs, and attend planning retreats.  A two year commitment is required.  To learn more about our current Board of Directors, click here.

Committee Member
Art With a Heart has three board committees in which volunteers can participate.  These include the Board Development, Fundraising and Marketing committees.  Our committee members meet on a regular basis to offer their expertise in helping AWaH fulfill its mission.

Junior Board
The Art With a Heart Junior Board, Mentoring Minds and Hearts, consists of high-school students who represent seven city high schools. The Junior Board is actively looking for new members, High School or College aged. The Junior Board strives to have at least one member volunteer at each programming site and exhibit. In order to finance our projects, the Junior Board applies for grants and has received grants from United Way Youth as Resources and has applied for a grant from CICF. The Junior Boards holds monthly meetings to bounce ideas off of one another to help further our efforts. The Junior Board’s motivation is the children. They are the most astounding, inspiring, amazing children you will ever meet. They deserve the world and that is what we are striving to give them.

Service Hours
Art With a Heart uses a volunteer database to track our volunteers’ hours of service.  Your time with us will be carefully recorded and easily accessible by staff.  We are more than happy to assist our volunteers in filling out forms needed to verify service hours.
