Kindergarten Classes

In 2006, Art With a Heart expanded its programming to include art for kindergarten classes with a high at-risk population. Programs offer children an introduction to the arts and a curriculum which integrates basic core academic skills such as letter and number recognition.

Kindergarten programs include:
  • Hands-on training for kindergarten teachers and staff.
  • Reinforcement of classroom curriculum within the art program.
  • Classroom time designated for art exploration, discovery and invention.
  • A permanent artwork created by the class of students to be given to the school.
  • Visual arts field trips.

Duration of Program: October-May

Time: 2 hours per day
Program Includes: Weekly classes, field trips, collaborative artwork for school, artistic renewal time for teachers, end of year dinner and art exhibit for families.
